Hawaii Fluid Art is opening soon in Coppell, owner Pete Pineda said.

The studio offers classes on glass painting and resin tumblers, but it specializes in fluid art classes. Fluid art consists of different color acrylics poured into different patterns to create artwork. It offers an easy entry barrier to unique paintings, Pineda said.

The process is based on fluid dynamics in which pigments of paint are made of different materials, each with a specific weight and density. Some are heavier, such as metals, and some, such as those from plant matter or resins, are lighter. When the pigments are all suspended and mixed together in a similar fluid medium, the various pigments push and pull against each other to create the appearance of organic cells on the canvas.

The Coppell location will be the eighth Texas studio for the company.
