Theater organization Lewisville Playhouse has been in the community for 40 years, originating as Poco Mas Players, then The Greater Lewisville Community Theater, Inc. Last fall, the nonprofit officially became Lewisville Playhouse, Inc., and began their 40th anniversary season.

“Lewisville Playhouse produces five shows every year and by the end of the current season this summer, will have staged 201 plays,” Nancy Thorne, Lewisville Playhouse marketing coordinator, said in an email. “Over the years we have partnered with the other Lewisville Arts organizations. In 1996, we produced The Music Man in collaboration with the Lewisville Lake Symphony, the Lake Cities Ballet Theatre and the Visual Art League, a true community production.”
