Looking for a new place to grab a bite or drink? These three restaurants are bringing new menu options to the Lake Highlands and Lakewood area in 2023. This list is not comprehensive.

1. JuiceLand

Austin-based juice company JuiceLand is planning to open a new Dallas location in the Lakewood area in early fall.

JuiceLand serves raw, cold-pressed juice and superfood smoothies made with whole fruits and vegetables. Patrons can also order grab-and-go plant-based meals, lattes and wellness shots.

The company operates in Austin, Houston and Dallas. The new Lakewood store will open in the Hillside Village shopping center at 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane, Ste. 365A, Dallas. www.juiceland.com


2. Voodoo Doughnut

Voodoo Doughnut, a famous Portland-based doughnut company, is planning to open its first Dallas location in Lower Greenville this year, but an exact opening date has not been announced.

Voodoo Doughnut is famous for its unique flavors, such as its Bacon Maple Bar, a bar doughnut with maple frosting and bacon, and its Memphis Mafia, a fried doughnut with banana chunks and cinnamon topped with chocolate chips, peanuts, and chocolate and peanut butter drizzle. The company offers more than 50 doughnut varieties, including glazed, jelly and cake doughnuts.

Voodoo Doughnut operates in Oregon, Colorado, Texas, California, Washington and Florida. The Lower Greenville shop will be the company’s eighth Texas location, according to the company website. It will open at at 1806 Greenville Ave., Ste. 120, Dallas. www.voodoodoughnut.com


3. Black Sheep Coffee

Black Sheep Coffee, a U.K.-based coffee chain, has delayed the opening of its first U.S. coffee shop. It was originally projected to open by the end of June, but that timeline has been delayed to the end of September.

Black Sheep serves a variety of coffee drinks, smoothies and shakes along with Norwegian waffle snacks and packaged coffee beans.

The company has locations in the U.K., France and the Philippines. The Lakewood cafe will open at 6240 E. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas. www.leavetheherdbehind.com
