The city of Keller hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 25 for Keller Sports Park after a $40.8 million renovation project.

Keller Mayor Armin Mizani said the investments at Keller Sports Park are part of an effort to make Keller the friendliest city in Texas. He said the renovations were primarily paid through the city’s sales tax revenue.
“If you are visiting our community, know that this is where your money is going,” he said. “To something that is going to be here for many, many generations.”
The project unveiled 12 renovated baseball and softball fields and facilities were expanded for lacrosse, equestrian and soccer competitions, according to previous reporting.
The city first expanded the park in 1995 with new soccer and multi-purpose fields, event specialist Jordan Dawson said. The equestrian arena at the park opened in 1999.
The park received new soccer paths and opened a new softball complex in 2001 and 2003, respectively, Dawson said. The park’s new lacrosse field in 2020 was the most recent renovation before the $40.8 million project
What else?
The city now has a licensing agreement partnership with the Texas Rangers to name 11 Keller Sports Park fields after former Rangers players, per previous reporting.
"I'm not sure there will ever be another Nolan Ryan, but when I look out today and see the faces of all these young players, somewhere in this group is the next [professional player,]" Rob Matwick, the executive vice president of public affairs for the Texas Rangers, said during the ceremony.
