The new vehicle, which resembles a fire truck, is slated to cost $1.35 million and will be stationed at Fort Worth Fire Department Station 35.
According to city documents, which includes lead times for procurement and delivery, the fire department will purchase the vehicle and reimburse the Municipal Airport Capital Projects Fund after the city receives its funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law grant for fiscal year 2025-26.
What happening?
The fire department, located at 2201 Flight Line Road inside airport boundaries, has three aircraft rescue firefighting vehicles to meet Federal Aviation Administration standards, according to city documents. The oldest vehicle in the field was manufactured in 2003, beyond the FFA average service life of 10 years to 12 years, according to city documents.

An engineering service agreement was approved by Fort Worth City Council during the Dec. 3 meeting for the design of Phase 1 of the Taxiway Hotel extension project at Perot Field.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will head the project in an amount up to $460,288 for design and bidding support for the project.
According to city documents, the project extends the Taxiway Hotel by 575 feet for future development and access for tenants adjacent to airport property. It also adds 700 feet of asphalt shoulders on the south side of the taxiway in compliance with FAA advisory circulars.
The funding will be from the Alliance Airport Capital Fund, according to city documents.
