The city of Fort Worth Veterans Affairs Office launched a Resources for Veterans webpage intended to help connect current and former military members with local organizations that serve them.

What you need to know

According to a city news release, the webpage links veterans, service members and their families to dozens of local nonprofits, government organizations and more that operate in the following areas:
  • Business opportunities
  • Employment
  • Filing Veteran Affairs claims
  • Healthcare
  • Financial assistance and tax exemptions
The news release states the new webpage is part of the city’s Veteran’s Affairs Office. In December 2023, city officials announced the creation of its first-ever veterans affairs coordinator position, which was filled by Joaquin Castillo, a highly decorated Airborne Ranger who served with the United States Army Special Operations Command.

Quote of note

“Fort Worth is committed to serving and supporting the brave men and women who have served our country,” Castillo said. “We want our veterans to know that we are here to help them find and utilize the resources they need to live a high quality of life in our community.”
