Buc-ee’s has two projects underway inside and another outside its Fort Worth location.

What's happening

Inside the mega convenience store there are two areas partitioned off from customers.

"We are currently installing a new whole-store backup generator that will allow us to remain open during periods of power loss,” Scott Ray, director of construction projects, said in an email. “Additionally, we are installing new tortilla machines to provide the freshest tortillas for our tacos and burritos, plus an expanded grab-and-go area."

Signage in the store says pastry selections have been moved to the fudge counter and the grab-and-go tacos and burritos are now at the Texas Round Up stand.

According to a filing with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the interior remodel will cost $600,000.

What else?

In addition, Buc-ee’s has a car wash located behind the store, which is under construction. The car wash will add 5,647 square feet to that location, according to previous reporting. The estimated cost of the addition is $6 million and the estimated completion date of July 31, according to the TDLR filing.

Buc-ee’s media coordinator Crissy Gonzales said there is no estimated completion date available.
