The gist
Terra Richards, the owner of the nursery, announced in a social media post the tree farm is closing and the move to its new location in Keller will not happen.
"It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing Fossil Creek Tree Farm, Nursery and Landscaping will not be continuing operation as we had planned in Keller, Texas," the post states. "Effective last Friday, our landscape crews pulled in to the yard for the last time. We are officially closed."
The business specialized in curating trees, plants and landscaping materials.
The backstory
Keller City Council approved the business moving from its Fort Worth location to 600 N. Main St. in Keller during its Aug. 20 meeting.
City Council granted Fossil Creek Tree Farm a Special Use Permit for the business to move to the space formerly occupied by McDonnell Hardware & Feed at the Johnson Road intersection.
The owners had moved from the nursery's original location at 7744 Blue Mound Road in Fort Worth on July 31.
