The Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce board of directors hired Bev Dixon to serve as the interim president and CEO through spring 2023.

Dixon took over the position Oct. 6, replacing former President JoAnn Malone.

“It’s fun meeting new people and working to take the chamber forward,” Dixon said. “One reason the board thought I’d be a good fit is I have relationships and and I'm part of different groups in the community. I’m passionate for our community.”

Dixon, a native of Norman, Oklahoma, served in the Navy for 21 years before retiring in 2010. Her husband, John, and two daughters moved to Keller in 2011.

She most recently has been working with nonprofit for the past 11 years. Dixon has been on the Keller ISD board of trustees since 2017. She is involved in a number of charity projects throughout Keller.

“I’m looking forward to bringing local relationships to the table,” Dixon said. “There are some expected challenges, but it's something I’m looking forward to.”

In her short tenure, the chamber has held three ribbon cuttings, including Zeal to Heal on Oct. 28 in Keller.

Editor's note: A correction was made about Dixon's work with nonprofits for the past 11 years.
