Gearbox Software, the Frisco-based video game developer known for games such as the “Borderlands” series and the “Halo” series, will be opening a studio in spring 2016 in Quebec, Canada.
The new studio, Gearbox Studio Quebec, is now hiring game developers to develop a new game.
Gearbox Software has been headquartered in Texas for more than 16 years and moved its operations from Plano to Frisco in 2015. However, the company has worked with various companies throughout the world.
“We are fortunate that there is a lot of demand on us to deliver our brand of interactive entertainment within the powerful franchises we have at Gearbox Software, and the challenge for us is growing to meet this demand,” Gearbox Software President Randy Pitchford said in a news release.
