In February a bankruptcy court approved HCA North Texas’ purchase of Forest Park Medical Center at Frisco for $96.25 million.

The sale is expected to close March 31. At that time, HCA will completely own and operate the hospital. FPMC will accept insurance plans currently accepted by HCA North Texas.

The purchase agreement includes HCA buying the hospital property, all documents and records, and the rights to the name Forest Park Medical Center at Frisco. The agreement also states that HCA is not liable for any employee compensation prior to the closing date of the sale.

Until the closing date, FPMC Frisco will remain in operation with its staff. The agreement allows HCA to make job offers to any hospital personnel before the closing date.

Nashville-based HCA, which owns hospital facilities throughout the country, has been growing its health care footprint during the past year. HCA has acquired the CareNow urgent care network, opened the Medical Center Alliance hospital and added new trauma programs throughout its hospitals. The company already owns more than 150 hospitals.

“We look forward to working collaboratively with physicians to offer a full range of exceptional adult and pediatric clinical services,” Erol Akdamar, HCA North Texas division president, said in a statement. “It’s part of our commitment to provide a comprehensive network of quality, convenient, personalized care across North Texas.”

Sabra, a real estate investment company that owns medical facilities throughout North America, has been the landlord for the Frisco FPMC location since 2013.

“We are pleased to be able to move forward and focus on building the company as we have these last five years, Forest Park notwithstanding,” Sabra CEO and Chairman Rick Matros said in a news release.

The hospital held an auction in February to sell its assets. When bids were due Feb. 10, HCA was the only bidder. The sale and auction of FPMC Frisco is part of the hospital’s bankruptcy process.
