As ice and snow blankets North Texas from Winter Storm Landon, several city facilities are closed, services are delayed and roads continue to have hazardous driving conditions. Here are some updates for Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake.

Grapevine

All city facilities, including the Grapevine Public Library and The REC of Grapevine, are closed Feb. 3, according to the city of Grapevine’s Facebook page.

Trash and recycling services have also been postponed to Monday, according to the page.

Pot stoves along the city’s railroad tracks have been set up to keep switch points from freezing, according to the Grapevine Police Department's post on Twitter. Flames along the rails are planned, and police are asking residents not to call dispatch about the fire to keep staff available to answer emergency calls.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has reopened at least one of its runways, according to a statement released at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 3. The airport anticipates “intermediate stoppages throughout the day to treat for snow and ice.” Travelers are advised to check with their individual airline about the status of a flight before heading to the airport.

Colleyville

Colleyville City Hall and other city facilities remain open as of 4 p.m. Feb. 3, according to the public works dispatch line.

The municipal court is closed Feb. 3 for in-person services, though court services are available by phone and email, according to the city of Colleyville’s website.


Trash and recycling services have been canceled for Feb. 3-4, and Community Waste Disposal will be evaluating whether it will be safe to continue services on Feb. 5, according to the city’s website.

Southlake

All Southlake city offices, including the Southlake Library and the Senior Activity Center, are closed Feb. 3, according to the city’s website.


Trash and recycling services for Feb. 3-4 have been rescheduled. Feb. 3 trash collection has been rescheduled to Feb. 7, and recycling from Feb. 3 will be collected on Feb. 10. Trash services from Feb. 4 will be rescheduled to Feb. 8, and recycling from Feb. 4 will be rescheduled to Feb. 10 as well, according to the city’s website.

The city has begun treating key roads with salt and sand, according to the website, which also notes that residents should make sure to give crews room on the road.
