McLaughlin will replace Sean Donohoe, who is retiring after more than a decade in that role. McLaughlin’s first day in the role will be May 19, according to a news release.

“I’m delighted that Chris is going to be the new CEO,” Donohoe said during a May 1 news conference about the American Airlines expansion at Terminal F. “I know he’s going to do an outstanding job. I’ve been here 12 years and it’s always good to get a new set of eyes and Chris has a passion for DFW [Airport].”
A closer look
Donohoe announced his retirement in October 2024, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
McLaughlin is currently the executive vice president of operations for DFW Airport, a role he’s held since 2021. In that job, he oversees airfield operations, Department of Public Safety, airline relations, environmental affairs, integrated operation center and cargo, according to a news release.
He previously served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer at Denver International Airport from 2018-21, according to his LinkedIn page.
McLaughlin’s work history also includes time with the Transportation Security Administration’s Office of Security Operations, Air Wisconsin Airlines and Frontier Airlines, according to a news release.
