Raised medians designed to make turning safer along William D. Tate Avenue in Grapevine is now complete, according to Texas Department of Transportation officials.

The medians will restrict left turns along certain portions of the roadway between Mustang Drive and the access road for SH 114.

The overview

Construction began on the project last summer. Officials said the cost for the project was $439,000.

The medians were necessary on the roadway, officials said, because of increasing traffic and a need to create safer left-turn traffic patterns along William D. Tate Avenue. Turn lanes along the road still allow for access to businesses on either side of the street.

Officials said the project was fully completed in March.
