The gist
Southlake City Council approved a $113,500 engineering services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates for citywide intersection analyses.
The firm will observe existing traffic conditions for 24 intersections, according to the agenda item. Recommendations will then be made regarding signal timing, signal phasing, approach lane allocation, roadway alignment, intersection geometry and pedestrian enhancement.
The following intersections will be included in the study:
- Kirkwood Boulevard and T.W. King Road
- West Dove Road and Shady Oaks Drive
- West Dove Road and North Peytonville Avenue
- West Dove Road and Kirkwood Boulevard
- East Dove Road and North White Chapel Boulevard
- East Dove Road and Kimball Avenue
- East Dove Road and North Carroll Avenue
- SH 114 frontage road and North White Chapel Boulevard
- SH 114 frontage road and North Carroll Avenue
- SH 114 frontage road and Kimball Avenue
- SH 114 frontage road and Southlake Boulevard
- Kirkwood Boulevard and Blessed Way
- Kirkwood Boulevard and Kimball Avenue
- Brumlow Avenue and Southwestern Street
- Brumlow Avenue and Hart Street/Warwick Way
- North Peytonville Avenue and Raven Bend Court
- North White Chapel and Unity Way

Kimley-Horn performed a citywide intersection analysis in 2017, which focused on the intersections along FM 1709/Southlake Boulevard corridor and other city intersections.
The new agreement will look at intersections that were not part of that analysis while determining if traffic patterns have changed that would cause updates to the intersection recommendations, according to the agenda item.
