The city of Southlake is investing $125,000 to install sidewalks along the westbound side of the SH 114 frontage road before the end of the year.
According to a news release from the city, the Southlake mobility team is adding 1,130 linear feet of concrete sidewalks between Blessed Way and Briarwood Drive starting Nov. 1. Public Works Director Rob Cohen said the project should be complete by late December or early January. The sidewalk addition will be funded through the city’s general fund.
This section of sidewalk will provide a path to the Gateway Church Southlake Campus. In the meantime, residents can expect intermittent lane closures for the duration of the project, the release stated.
Cohen also said sidewalks will be added to the eastbound frontage road of SH 114 in the future, as part of Southlake’s mobility master plan. Since 2009, Southlake has added 417,069 linear feet of sidewalks throughout the city.
