Last summer, ground broke on TEX Rail, a 27-mile commuter rail project that will extend from downtown Fort Worth, through Colleyville and Grapevine, and into Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. When the rail project opens in late 2018 there will be nine stations, including one in Grapevine. Here are four things to know about Grapevine's TEX Rail station:

1. The station will be located downtown.
The city purchased 4 acres of property at the northeast corner of Main Street and Dallas Road to build the rail station.

2. A boutique hotel will be adjacent to the station.
Coury Hospitality will develop a boutique hotel that will feature between 110 and 125 rooms. For more information about the developer and the hotel, click here.

3. Grapevine officials plan to make the station a destination.
City officials said the station will also include a parking garage, outdoor plaza, observation deck and retail uses.

4. Some of the features will be complete next year.
The parking garage will be open for use when TEX Rail service begins in late 2018. The hotel, plaza and train station building is expected to be complete by early to mid-2019.
