Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney files for judge position

Colleyville resident and Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney Chris Ponder put his name on the ballot for judge of Tarrant County Probate Court No. 1.

“I am running for Tarrant County Probate Court No. 1 because I have the experience, temperament and integrity needed to honorably serve the citizens of Tarrant County,” Ponder said in a statement. “I am steadfast in my pledge to strictly follow the law as written, adhering to its text and original meaning, and ensuring it is equally applied to all parties.”

Ponder has been an assistant district attorney in the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office for 13 years, and previously served as chief of the DA’s Mental Health Division.

The primary election for Tarrant County Probate Court No. 1 will take place Tuesday, March 6.
