Arlington Chinese Church will be opening a Southlake location, renting space from Southlake Tutoring Academy from Friday evenings through Sundays.

The Southlake City Council unanimously approved a special use permit at a May 3 meeting to allow the church to utilize the space.

Chuck Lo, building owner and Southlake Tutoring Academy owner, said the space will be slightly renovated to include improvements, such as a better sound system for church services.

The approximately 8,000-square-foot space is located at 2801 E. Southlake Blvd., according to city documents. During weekdays, the Tutoring Academy operates from 1:30-6:30 p.m., serving students in grades K-12, according to the city. The church will use the space to hold Bible studies, rehearse and hold worship sessions, and host prayer meetings.

“We see that it is a calling from God, and we want to share the gospel here,” Arlington Chinese Church Pastor Wanxing Xu told the council.
