Mac’s On Main has been given the go-ahead to expand its footprint in Grapevine.

The premium upscale steakhouse was given the green light to expand its building on South Main Street through a unanimous vote of the Grapevine City Council during its Feb. 15 joint meeting with the Grapevine Planning and Zoning Commission.

The vote approves a conditional-use permit that will allow the restaurant to expand about 1,300 square feet into an adjacent suite space and will bring the steakhouse to a total of 5,100 square feet, according to city of Grapevine officials.

About one-third of the expansion will be used for additional seating, while the remainder will be used for kitchen, storage, office and restroom space.

Mac’s On Main is one of two locations—the other is located in Arlington—helmed by chef/owner Rena Frost. It offers fresh seafood, steaks, prime rib and seasonally created specials as well as Chairman Reserve and Strauss Grass Fed steaks, slow-roasted prime rib, fresh fish selections and the restaurant’s signature Mac’s Salad. 817-251-6227. www.macsteak.com
