Council approved the sale of 3.81 acres of city-owned property located at the southeast corner of John McCain Road and Colleyville Boulevard at the Oct. 21 meeting.
The details
The purchase-sale agreement is for $2.5 million, and developers CDC Equities LLC plan to construct Garages of America, with office and restaurant space that includes outdoor seating, Assistant City Manager Mark Wood said. The sale is contingent on the developer receiving zoning approval for the property, he said.
Garages of America will sell luxury garages for storing antique cars, according to its website. The garages are customizable and will have plumbing, heating, and will be wired for phone, cable and internet.
The developer has also purchased land adjacent to the city-owned property for additional luxury garages, Wood said.
The garages will be toward the back of the property while the restaurant and office space will be facing SH 26, Mayor Bobby Lindamood said.
In 2020, the city purchased the land at the corner of John McCain Road and SH 26 for $1.5 million, Wood said.
What’s next?
The developer has 180 days to bring a proposal to city council for a zoning change, which council will have to approve before anything is developed on the property, Wood said.
