The project started this spring and and should be done by late summer, Grapevine Marketing and Communications Manager Mona Quintanilla said.
The gist
Grapevine City Council approved a contract with Fransen Pittman Construction not to exceed $860,622 during a Dec. 3, 2024, meeting.
The City Hall renovation will include changes focused on the lobby, according to city documents.
They include:
- Demolition of the vault in the public works area
- Design of a new mail and package space
- Expansion of the building services inspection office
- Design of an entry vestibule along the Barton Street entrance, the backside of city hall
- New transaction counters for public works, building services and utility billing
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the estimated cost of the renovations is $840,000.
The work will encompass 2,300 square feet of the first floor and has led to some temporary relocations, such as the public works department, and areas partitioned off from visitors.
“What will be unveiled will offer a more enhanced customer service experience for our citizens along with a pleasing aesthetic with matching wood accents to our main staircase,” Quintanilla said.
