In a nutshell
Grapevine City Council approved a $110,000 contract with insurance consultant Lockton Dunning Benefits during a Feb. 18 meeting. The consultant will assist the city with insurance selection for employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability, according to a staff memo.
The city had previously consulted with McGriff since 2008, said Melanie Hill, assistant director of Human Resources for the city. The city opened up a request for proposals because officials were looking for a consultant with more advanced reporting capabilities, Hill said.
Lockton was selected from a pool of four firms that submitted a proposal. The firm was selected for their financial management, reporting capabilities and account management expertise, according to the staff memo.
The city’s contract with Lockton will run for three years. Funding for the contract is available in the city’s general fund under the Human Resources department.
