The populations for Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake all have decreased from 2019 to 2023, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

The bureau released new five-year data for 2023 on Dec. 12 as part of its American Community Survey, or ACS. The new data represents a five-year estimate of the population across the country from 2019 to 2023, according to its website.

The details

The census data shows that Grapevine experienced a 4.58% decrease in population during that five-year period, while Colleyville saw a 2.1% decrease and Southlake’s population decreased by .79%.
The neighboring towns of Trophy Club and Westlake experienced a growth of 12.6% and 56.97%, respectively.
Breaking it down

The age population in Grapevine dropped for people under 45 by an average of 10.08% but increased for people 45 and older by an average of 3.66% between the years 2019 and 2023. The most significant population growth was for people older than 75 (30.07%) while the largest decrease was for the age range of 20-44 (8.99%).


Colleyville saw the biggest decline in residents 75 and older by 22.36% but saw a 6.16% increase in population for residents 19 and younger during that same time span.

Southlake’s age population experienced its largest decline between ages 20-44 by 9.06% but witnessed a 49.26% population jump for residents 75 and older over those five years.
The town of Trophy Club experienced growth in all age groups during that span with the 45-74 demographic experiencing the biggest population boom of 26.83%.

Like Trophy Club, Westlake saw growth across all age demographics, with the 45-74 age group growing by 62.24% between 2019 and 2023.
