During a Nov. 6 meeting, Colleyville City Council members approved funding for updating the Colleyville Center's technology and designing a right turn lane extension along Heritage Avenue.

The gist

Council members approved up to $107,333 for the final phase of a technology upgrade project at the Colleyville Center. The funding will be used to update hardware within the center’s North Hall and connect its technology systems across the building, according to a Nov. 6 council agenda.

Chelsea Rose, who handles community engagement and economic development for the city, said the project includes the purchase of projectors, speakers, equipment racks and more.

The project to replace the center’s technology systems began earlier this year after several systemic hardware failures were reported, according to a staff presentation. After approval from council, the final phase is expected to wrap up in January.

New technology equipment was already purchased for the South Hall and Conference room earlier this year, according to the presentation.

Also on the agenda

Council members also approved a $109,289 contract with design firm CSRS to design the Heritage Avenue right-turn lane extension project. The project consists of extending Heritage Avenue’s southbound right turn lane at the intersection with Cheek-Sparger Road.

The project would also expand the bridge culvert as needed just north of the intersection in order to accommodate the extension, according to the council agenda.

The project is part of the city’s fiscal year 2025-29 Capital Improvement Program that was approved in July. The program includes a list of improvement projects meant to address capital needs regarding roads, drainage, facilities and more.
