Grapevine City Council approved a plan to replace the plaster of the Dove Waterpark pool during its meeting Oct. 1.

The details

The contract was awarded to Sunbelt Pools for $316,997 to replace the plaster. The project started Oct. 2 and is expected to finish mid-November, Grapevine Marking Manager April Rogers said.

The renovation involves hydroblasting existing plaster, updating the tile and replacing the plaster.

The impact

The pool, located within the water park at 1509 Hood Lane in Grapevine, is closed for the winter, so the project will not effect patrons.

Plaster pools have a lifespan of five to 10 years, and the Dove Waterpark pool is 12 years old. If the plaster is not replaced, the wear could become major and cause damage to filtration systems and motors, according to city documents.
