The Colleyville Justice Center is getting a revamped interior after work has started on the exterior.

The details

The Colleyville City Council approved a renovation contract with Gomez Floor Covering Inc. for $288,676, with a contingency amount not to exceed $45,000, during the Aug. 20 meeting.

In May, City Council approved a contract for $411,223 to improve the pond in front of the Colleyville Justice Center. That project is still in the construction phase.

What’s happening

According to City Manager Jerry Ducay, the work will touch different portions of the Justice Center, which is located at 5201 Riverwalk Drive.

The existing lobby doors will be replaced with new automatic doors, while 9,589 square feet of carpet will be replaced with luxury vinyl plank flooring, according to city documents.

Other work that will be done won’t be seen by the general public. That includes replacing the floor in the gymnasium, getting two new wall mirrors in the gym and updating countertops in the men’s and women’s locker room.

Overall, the building will undergo nearly $300,000 in renovations.

Gomez Flooring, based in Dallas, said in city documents they could have the project done in 80 days.
