A bid for two restroom renovation projects at city parks in Colleyville was approved during the Aug. 6 City Council meeting.

The details

City Council approved a contract with Carrollton-based Construction Solutions USA for an amount not to exceed $444,919.88. There was also a contingency amount not to exceed $44,000 attached. Four sealed bids were received and read during the July 9 council meeting.

The work will commence at Pleasant Run Soccer Complex and Park and McPherson Park.

“This will complete the strategy of renovating and updating all of our park restrooms,” Parks and Recreation Director Lisa Escobedo said.

She said new plumbing fixtures and accessories, new LED lights, new paint, new flooring and new mechanical systems will be added to both restroom projects.

Zooming in

Escobedo said that McPherson Park, at 240 W. McDonwell School Road, has two sets of restrooms that will be renovated.

The work at McPherson will also include cleaning the existing stone, painting the existing structure and trim and replacing the existing wood trellis, she said.

The specifics

Pleasant Run, located at 6517-6543 Pleasant Run Road, will have work in a building that includes storage rooms and a concession stand. Like McPherson, Pleasant Run’s restrooms will include staining and painting of exposed wood structures, repairing the existing brick and new stone veneer columns.
