Due to consistent rainfall in recent days, Grapevine Lake is nearly 20 feet above normal level at 554.98 feet as of May 16, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department announced some closures on May 15, but an updated news release added Minnow Loop Park to the closure.

The details

The normal pool level for the lake is 535 feet, according to the city. The influx of rain has closed a number of boat ramps and parks closed at the lake including:
  • Dove Loop boat ramp
  • Katie's Woods boat ramp
  • Lakeview boat ramp
  • Lakeview (non-motorized launch)
  • McPherson Slough boat ramp
  • Meadowmere boat ramp
  • Sand Bass Point area and boat ramp
  • Lakeview Park
  • Meadowmere Park
  • Parr Park Rock Trail
In addition, Snakey Lane and Minnow Loop are closed due to high waters.

What else?

Currently, the only open boat ramps are the Katies Wood high-water boat ramp and the Farris Branch boat ramp, according to a city news release. The city urges caution for those who decide to boat as shoreline structures can create unseen hazards. To view the lake's Hazards Map, click here.
