The details
Colleyville residents came together April 8 for eclipse-watching at the city’s special event plaza just outside City Hall.
Connie Ramsey, a Colleyville resident since 2008, said that she came to the event to see "what God has to show us." She came to watch it in Colleyville because she said she knew it would be a quality event.
“Colleyville does things right,” Ramsey said. “They’re very good at putting on events [that are] very family-oriented.”

City staff provided eclipse-themed refreshments while a DJ played songs like, “Total Eclipse of the Heart," "Walking on the Moon" and "Sunglasses at Night."
Kristi Isbell, who works at the Colleyville Center, set up a telescope complete with a sun funnel so that people could have an opportunity to get a better look at the eclipse. Isbell said that the telescope was on loan from the Fort Worth Astronomical Society. According to NASA, a sun funnel is a device attached to telescopes that allows a group of people to observe a magnified image of the sun safely.
