Community Waste Disposal will collect Southlake residents’ bagged leaves for recycling this winter.

The gist

The annual leaf recycling program began Nov. 15 and runs through Jan. 27, according to an announcement from the city.

Residents can place their bagged leaves on the curb and have them picked up for recycling. Bagged leaves must be placed by 7 a.m. on designated collection days.

For residents with Monday and Thursday trash pickup days, bagged leaves are scheduled to be collected on the following dates:
  • Nov. 29
  • Dec. 6
  • Dec. 13
  • Jan. 10
  • Jan. 24
For residents with Tuesday and Friday trash pickup days, bagged leaves will be collected on:
  • Nov. 18
  • Dec. 2
  • Dec. 9
  • Dec. 16
  • Jan. 13
  • Jan. 27
All bag types are acceptable for collections. Residents are advised to limit the amount of additional debris like acorns, twigs, and other materials that may be raked up with leaves. The bagged leaves must be separated from solid waste.

Also of note

Those with more than 20 bags of leaves are advised to call Community Waste Disposal at 972-392-9300 or notify the city through Southlake Serves to ensure a smooth collection process.

Residents can also dispose of their bagged leaves through their regular trash year-round. However, leaves are not recycled through this method.
