Colleyville was forced to cancel its City Fair on May 22 due to the threat of severe weather, but some of the vendors and attractions will be at the city’s annual Stars and Guitars event in June.
“We tried to wait for the last minute, but the weather forecast with the thunderstorms and rain is just too great to risk it,” said Ronni Orr, Colleyville Community Relations and Events Specialist.
City Fair would have featured a variety of attractions, including a petting zoo and pony rides, face painting, caricature and balloon artists, stilt walkers and a patriotic monkey. Orr said that those participants agreed to join Stars and Guitars, rather than risk bad weather and low turnout.
Stars and Guitars will be held June 25 at City Park, 5201 Bransford Road. The event will culminate with a performance by country music artist Jo Dee Messina and a fireworks display.
