Grapevine, Southlake and Trophy Club are planning fireworks events this week.

Southlake

The city of Southlake is presenting Southlake Stars & Stripes on July 3, from 5 to 11 p.m. at Southlake Town Square.

The event will feature live music at the Rustin Pavilion and Frank Edgar Cornish Park stage. A firework countdown will start at 9:25 p.m. and fireworks will follow at 9:30 p.m.

The fireworks show will be live-streamed on the city’s Facebook page, according to Daniel Cortez. The city of Southlake’s director of economic development and tourism.

Cortez added shuttles run from 4 p.m. to midnight at White’s Chapel Methodist Church at 185 S. White Chapel Blvd., and Gateway Church at 700 Blessed Way.

According to the event website, there will be family activities and kids' areas, as well as carnival games, bubbles, crafts, activities and temporary tattoos.

“It is one of the best events we do every year,” Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill said during the June 18 meeting. “As it gets bigger it still feels like a small-town, old-fashioned type of activity and event.”

Trophy Club

The town of Trophy Club will have a trio of events to celebrate the holiday on July 4.

The Patriot 5K and 1-mile fun run will start at 7:15 a.m. at Byron Nelson High School, located at 2775 Bobcat Blvd. The cost ranges from free to $40, depending on the age group. The Parade of Patriots will start at 10 a.m. and starts at Byron Nelson High School, as well.

Finally, activities at Independence Park East will run from 6 to 10:30 p.m. and will feature a fireworks display. There will be children's activities, food vendors and live music from Limelight. A 20-minute fireworks show will start at 9:40 p.m. After the fireworks show, Limelight will return to the stage.

Grapevine

The Summertime in Grapevine Firework Extravaganza will be held at 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

However, there will be different viewing sites this year as the event was moved due to flooding around Grapevine Lake. Typically, the fireworks are shot off near Grapevine Lake, but the event was moved near Great Wolf Lodge this year.

The fireworks show is slated to last 18 minutes, according to the city website.

Surrounding areas

Westlake will not have an official Fourth of July event, however, the Vaquero Golf Club will host an event that is permitted through the town for its residents and members. Colleyville's patriotic Stars and Guitars event was held June 21.
