The event is for school-aged children who pre-registered and whose families are experiencing financial hardship and/or qualify for free or reduced lunch at GCISD. The event will be held at Mustang-Panther Stadium at 2909 Ira E Woods Ave., Grapevine.
The program provides:
- School supplies
- Backpacks
- Clothing, including new underwear and socks
Grace, a nonprofit that provides assistance to individuals and families in crisis, still needs items donated. That list includes shirts and pants, light and heavy gently used jackets, and school supplies: pencils, plastic folders, crayon boxes, pens, notebooks and school-appropriate backpacks.
Volunteers who speak English and Spanish are encouraged to contact Grace to assist in the event, according to a news release.
Women's Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Connect are other organizers.
