Republican Tony Tinderholt maintains the lead to retain his spot as the Texas House, District 94 seat, though his lead shrank in the third update.

Tinderholt now has 40,416 votes, or 55.89% of the votes. Democrat Denise Wilkerson now has 31,899 votes, or 44.11%—her highest percentage on the night.

Republican Tony Tinderholt is still ahead in his quest to retain his spot as the Texas House, District 94 seat in the first update since early voting numbers came in.

Tinderholt now has 37,176 votes or 56.14% of the votes. Democrat Denise Wilkerson has 29,047 votes, or 43.86%.

Tarrant County has released early voting totals for elections and Tony Tinderholt is ahead in his quest to retain his spot as the Texas House, District 94 seat.

What you need to know

Tinderholt, R-Arlington, who has been in office since 2015, is seeking another term. Denise Wilkerson, D-Arlington, is his opponent.


According to unofficial early voting results, Tinderholt leads with 36,450 votes, or 56.15%. Wilkerson has 28,465 votes or 43.85%.

House District 94 covers Arlington, Bedford, Colleyville, Euless, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Hurst, Pantego and Dalworthington Gardens.

What else?

In early voting, there were 659,855 ballots cast countywide, which represents 50.80% of Tarrant County's 1.29 million voters.


Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
