The early voting numbers in Tarrant County, after four days, show a large increase compared to the 2020 election cycle.

Breaking it down

Tarrant County released data on Oct. 24 showing 226,473 votes have been counted at 51 locations throughout the county.

The city of Keller has had the most votes with 8,439, followed by the city of Grapevine with 8,076 and the city of Southlake with 8,006.

The largest single day of voting for any of the early voting locations was Keller Town Hall on Oct. 22, where 2,243 voters turned out. Keller is the only voting precinct that had 2,000 or more ballots cast in each of the first four days.

Grapevine Public Library, Southlake Town Hall and the Dionne Phillips Bagsby Tarrant County Southwest Courthouse had at least 2,000 voters during two of the four days.

Twelve of the 51 voting sites had more than 6,000 voters show up during the first four days. Of those 12, only 10 were used during the 2020 election, but all 10 of those polling sites show a marked increase in 2024.

Two new voting locations this year also had more than 6,000 voters in the first four days: the Fort Worth Public Library-Golden Triangle branch and the City of Arlington South Service Center.

What else?

During the 2020 election cycle, there were 17 days of early voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, there were 12 days of early voting and there will be 11 during the 2024 election cycle.

Early voting ends Nov. 1.
