According to unofficial results, incumbents Chris Coy and Duff O'Dell have won their individual races for Grapevine City Council Place 5 and Place 6, respectively.

Coy received 78.92% of the vote with 5,077 votes, and William Thorsell received 21.08% of the vote with 1,356 votes. Elected to Place 5 in 2008, Coy has also served on the city's planning and zoning commission, board of zoning adjustment and the Grapevine Rotary Club.

“I’m honored and thrilled to continue to serve the people of Grapevine,” Coy said. “We have a lot of amazing projects happening that will continue to make it a great place to live and I look forward to being a part of it.”

O'Dell received 70.52% of the vote for Place 6 with 4,603 votes while Theresa Strayer received 1,924 votes with 29.48% of the vote. O'Dell was elected to her position in 2014 and has served in the city through volunteerism and civic involvement.


"In the coming years, [Grapevine City Council has] some decisions to make on the final buildout of Grapevine," she said. "We have a lot of amazing projects happening that will continue to make it a great place to live and I look forward to being a part of it.”

With 127 vote centers reporting, incumbents Chris Coy and Duff O'Dell continue their lead for Grapevine City Council Place 5 and Place 6, respectively.


According to unofficial results, incumbent Coy holds his lead with 5,076 votes, or 78.94% of the votes, and William Thorsell follows with 1,354 votes at 21.06%.

In the race for Place 6, O'Dell holds 70.54% of total votes at 4,602. Theresa Strayer follows with 1,922 or 29.46% of votes.

Tarrant County has released early voting totals for the Grapevine City Council races. Council had four candidates for two seats—Place 5 and Place 6.


For Place 5, the candidates are Chris Coy and William Thorsell. According to unofficial results, incumbent Coy has 4,090 votes, or 79.28% of the votes, and Thorsell follows with 1,069 votes at 20.72%. Coy was elected to his council place in 2008.

For Place 6, incumbent Duff O'Dell leads with 3,740 vote, or 71.24% of the vote, while Theresa Strayer has 1,510 or 28.76%. O'Dell was elected to her position in 2014.
