The first day to file for a place on the May 7 local election ballot is Jan. 19.

Seats are up for grabs on the Grapevine, Southlake and Colleyville city councils as well as the board of trustees for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and Carroll ISD.

On Grapevine City Council, Places 3 and 4 are both open, according to the city’s website. Leon Leal serves in Place 3, and Mayor Pro Tem Darlene Freed holds Place 4.

In Southlake, City Council Places 3, 4 and 5 are up for election, the city’s website stated. Mayor Pro Tem Chad Patton is in Place 3. Ronell Smith holds Place 4, and Amy Torres-Lepp holds Place 5.

Colleyville's mayor and City Council Places 1 and 2 are up for election, according to the city’s website. Richard Newton is the current mayor. Tammy Nakamura holds Place 1, and Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Lindamood holds Place 2.


Places 3 and 4 on the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees are up for election, the district’s website stated. Louie Sullins holds Place 3, and Lisa Pardo holds Place 4.

On the Carroll ISD board of trustees, Place 6 is up for election, according to the school district’s website. Todd Carlton currently holds the position.

Filing for a place on the May 7 election ballot closes at 5 p.m. Feb. 18, according to the state elections calendar. The last day to register to vote in the May 7 election is April 7. The first day of early voting in person starts April 25, while the last day is May 3. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 26.
