Eligible residents have until Oct. 6 to register to vote. The early voting period starts Oct. 20 and ends Oct. 31. Election Day is Nov. 4
The background
Carroll ISD's board of trustees approved Nov. 4 as the date for the Place 3 election in June after Place 3 trustee Dudley Jordan resigned in March because he moved out of the district, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
The board decided to hold a special election for the Place 3 seat so the community could determine who fills that spot. The Texas Education Code states that a board must appoint a new member no more than 180 days after a board member resigns or call for an election on the next election date.
Candidates were asked to keep responses within 50 words, answer the questions provided and avoid attacking opponents. Answers may have been edited or cut to adhere to those guidelines, or for style and clarity. For more election coverage, go to www.communityimpact/voter-guide.

Why are you running for office?
As a devoted father of four Carroll ISD students, I'm committed to ensuring every child receives the exceptional education our community deserves. My proven business leadership and unwavering passion for excellence drive me to bring innovative solutions, fiscal accountability, and fresh perspective to our school board.
What are the biggest challenges facing the district?
Teacher retention through competitive compensation and comprehensive support remains critical. Staffing gaps across key programs directly impact student success. We must preserve our academic distinction while securing equitable resources for every learner. Developing diversified revenue strategies beyond traditional taxpayer funding will ensure sustainable growth and long-term program vitality.
How do you plan to address these issues?
I'll leverage my educational staffing expertise to implement strategic recruitment initiatives and streamline administrative processes that burden our educators. By establishing innovative public-private partnerships and community funding platforms, we can bridge resource gaps while connecting local businesses with school priorities, all without increasing taxpayer obligations.
What would your top priorities be if you are elected?
First, resolve critical staffing deficiencies across all departments to guarantee exceptional instruction for every student. Second, champion and retain our outstanding educators through comprehensive support systems. Third, establish diversified revenue channels to enhance programs, facilities, and personnel. Finally, forge stronger collaborative partnerships among families, schools, and our broader community.

Why are you running for office?
Families move to Southlake for Carroll ISD’s excellence. I’m running to protect that tradition while ensuring financial discipline and parent partnership. As a parent and conservative leader, I’ll keep our schools strong so every student thrives and every family is proud to call CISD home.
What are the biggest challenges facing the district?
Our challenge is maintaining academic excellence while costs rise and expectations stay high. CISD taxes are down 27% since 2021, but discipline matters. As a healthcare COO managing multimillion-dollar budgets, I know how to safeguard standards while keeping spending under control.
How do you plan to address these issues?
With the endorsement of the entire CISD board, I’ll partner with them to keep our “A” rating strong. Using my COO experience, I’ll ensure budgets reflect student priorities, prevent reckless debt, and expand opportunities so Carroll ISD remains the pride of Southlake.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
I’ll prioritize strong academics, teacher support, and fiscal discipline. Carroll ISD has proven we can lower taxes and cut debt while raising achievement. I’ll build on that success, ensuring students have unique opportunities and our schools remain Southlake’s greatest strength.
