Carroll ISD is introducing Dragon U, the district’s after-school program for kindergarten-4th grade students.

The details

According to a district news release, the new program will launch in time for the 2025-26 school year. Located on all elementary campuses, Dragon U will be open Monday-Friday until 5:30 p.m. and includes the following:
  • Daily snacks
  • Homework help
  • Arts and games
The program will be available to district residents as well as CISD employees. Members of the Carroll ISD board of trustees unanimously approved providing childcare for district employees during their regular meeting Feb. 24.

What you need to know

The news release states interest forms are open online and parents or guardians need to fill out a form to reserve a spot for their student. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis and a waitlist will be created once capacity is reached.


Other details include:
  • Tuition: $410/month (residents), $260/month (employees)
  • $100 registration/supply fee (non-refundable)
  • 1:22 staff-to-student ratio
A member of the Dragon U team will contact parents to confirm placement and provide next steps for completing enrollment, according to the news release.
