Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is partnering with the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Council of Tarrant County and surrounding school districts to offer a “Making Connections North Tarrant” fair on Feb. 22.

The details

According to a district news release, the fair will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the GCISD Professional Development and Education Center located at 5800 Colleyville Blvd. in Colleyville. It is a free event that provides families and individuals with disabilities of all ages with resources.

The news release states that resources available at the fair include:
  • Medicaid waivers
  • Therapy/camp providers
  • College programs
  • Assistive and adaptive technology
  • Financial planning
  • Guardianship/supported decision-making
  • Transition employment services
A closer look

Four breakout sessions will also be held, according to the news release. They include:
  • 9:15-10 a.m. - Guardianship: Rush to the Courthouse or Last Result?
  • 10:15-11 a.m. - Financial Planning for Special Needs
  • 11:15 a.m.-noon - College Options and Info
  • 12:15-1 p.m. - Summer Camps Galore
