He served as the assistant superintendent for financial services and operations since 2022 in Carroll ISD and brings with him 20 years of experience in school district finance.
The backstory
According to previous Community Impact reporting, Johnson’s most recent accomplishments with Carroll ISD include:
- Helping the district achieve a “superior” rating for the 2023-24 school year from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.
- Helping Carroll ISD board of trustees adopt an annual balanced budget policy—the first of its kind in Texas—during their regular meeting Dec. 16.
- Senior officer of budget and finance in Fort Worth ISD
- CFO for Cleburne and Keene ISDs
In addition to his public sector service, the news release states Johnson has served roles in the private sector as a certified public accountant.
