As Tarrant County continues to grow, colleges with footprints in the Fort Worth area continue to see more students. Texas Christian University has over 12,000 students for the second year in a row and Tarrant County College, with five locations in the county, is trending back toward pre-COVID enrollment.

The same is true for Gainesville-based North Central Texas College, which opened a new location call NCTC Champion's Circle in Fort Worth in 2022.

Enrollment levels at the nearest major regional colleges and universities all saw a slight increase in the fall of 2023. TCU is the only one that has seen sustained growth for at least the past five years.

Liberal arts & sciences and general study degree programs dominated fall 2023 enrollment at the two junior colleges in the area. General business and nursing are the two programs with the highest enrollment at TCU.
