Carroll ISD board of trustees unanimously approved hiring Jeremy Glenn as the district’s new superintendent Aug. 26.

The gist

Carroll ISD board members named Glenn as the lone finalist in the district’s superintendent search Aug. 5. During his president’s report at the board’s regular meeting June 24, board President Cameron Bryan said the job posting for the superintendent position closed June 15, and the district received 25 applications. Current Carroll ISD Superintendent Lane Ledbetter announced his plans to retire, which goes into effect Dec. 31, in a community email April 26.

The backstory

Glenn’s most recent position was as superintendent of Granbury ISD. According to a Granbury ISD news release, the district achieved several notable accomplishments under Glenn’s leadership, including:
  • Elevating academic achievement scores districtwide
  • Creating higher education partnerships
  • Passing a voter-approval tax ratification election to increase staff raises
  • Starting an early education academy and dual language academy
What they’re saying

“You have stolen a fantastic community leader,” said Granbury City Manager Chris Coffman, who spoke about Glenn during the public comments portion of the meeting. “He’s got integrity that is unquestionable, and he lives above reproach. This man is high quality, top shelf, first class, and we hate to see you go.”

"Dr. Glenn is a man of integrity and character exemplifying the values that are foundational to our community," Bryan said. "With a wealth of experience in education leadership, he brings a visionary approach and commitment to excellence. We are confident that under his guidance and leadership, our schools will continue to thrive and our students will reach new heights."

Glenn will officially begin his role as superintendent Sept. 1. At that time, Ledbetter will be named superintendent emeritus until he serves out the remainder of his contract through Dec. 31.

The board also hired Jeff Brady as the new executive director of communications and Patti Parsons as the new executive director of special programs at the Aug. 26 meeting.
