The details
Calvert is the principal at Bear Creek Elementary, where he has led the campus since 2016, according to the news release. Prior to coming to GCISD, he worked for Irving ISD in the following roles:
- Assistant principal
- Campus athletic director
- Special education teacher
“Dr. Calvert is a passionate and dedicated educator who leads with purpose and sets his employees and students up for success,” Superintendent Brad Schnautz said. “I am eager to witness the continued positive impact of his work as he progresses in his journey within the district.”
A closer look
The news release states Calvert has earned several degrees in education, including:
- Bachelor of Science in education from Baylor University
- Master of education in K-12 administration from Lamar University
- Ph.D. of education in educational leadership from Dallas Baptist University
“I am incredibly grateful that I have been able to be a part of GCISD for the past eight years,” Calvert said. “Colleyville Middle School has an outstanding reputation, and I am excited for this next adventure. I can’t wait to work with the amazing staff, students and families at CMS."
