Students at Dove Elementary School in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD can now be more physically active as they learn with a new playground.

The Lü Interactive Playground displays activities that students can play with, transforming any space into an active and immersive environment where kids are engaged physically, intellectually and socially.

The details

According to a district news release, the GCISD Technology Department recently unveiled the new interactive playground system at Dove Elementary School.

The system allows physical education teachers to go online and download displays to create different activities focused on physical education. Types of displays include:
  • Calisthenic challenges
  • Target throwing games
  • Yoga relaxation
Developmental benefits from using the system include the following, according to the news release:
  • Collaborative learning
  • Motor skills
  • Problem solving
The news release states the installation at Dove Elementary School completes the installation project in the district, with all elementary schools now having Lü Interactive Playgrounds. The displays are either projected on gym walls or floors, depending on the space allowed.

“This has definitely helped keep the excitement in here,” said Bree Moody, PE teacher at Dove Elementary School. “Students light up when they see we get to play on the Lü system during class.”
