Grapevine-Colleyville ISD parents can join GCISD's counseling department for two nights of discussions on how to help students dealing with anxiety.

According to a news release, both events will take place at the district’s administration building, located at 3051 Ira E. Woods Ave. in Grapevine.

The first discussion will take place at 6 p.m. Feb. 29 and is geared for elementary school parents. Speaker Sadi Monge will talk about anxiety strategies for parents.

The second discussion, "Raising nonanxious kids in an anxious world," will be presented by speaker Matthew LaGrange. It’s aimed toward secondary school parents and will take place at 6 p.m. March 26.

Monge is one of the founding partners of Family Connections Counseling, a Colleyville-based counseling practice. According to the company website, Monge has been in private practice for more than 15 years. Her accreditations include:
  • Licensed professional counselor
  • Texas state board approved supervisor
  • Registered play therapist
The website states Monge earned a master’s degree of science in counseling from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University.

LaGrange founded His Story Coaching and Counseling in 2011. The organization’s website states LaGrange has served for the past four years as the chair of psychology at Dallas Christian College.

According to the website, LaGrange holds the following degrees:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marian College
  • Master’s degree in clinical psychology from St. Louis University
  • Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Purdue University
