Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is partnering with the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Council of Tarrant County and surrounding school districts to offer a “Making Connections North Tarrant” Fair on Feb. 24.

The details

According to a district news release, the fair will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the GCISD Professional Development and Education Center located at 5800 Colleyville Blvd. in Colleyville. It is a free event that provides families and individuals with disabilities of all ages with resources.

The news release states resources available at the fair include:
  • Medicaid waivers
  • Therapy/camp providers
  • College programs
  • Assistive and adaptive technology
  • Financial planning
  • Guardianship/supported decision-making
  • Transition employment services
A closer look

Three breakout sessions will also be held, according to the news release. They include:
  • Session 1: Accessing services through My Health My Resources of Tarrant County; Guardianship: Rush to the courthouse or last result?
  • Session 2: Life planning nuts and bolts; Self-determination: The counterpart of self-advocacy
  • Session 3: Bring the fun, summer camps for all ages
