A kickoff party for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Special Olympics athletes will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Grapevine High School Mustang Activity Center, located at 3223 Mustang Drive in Grapevine.

According to a district news release, this event is an opportunity for interested students to sign up to participate in the Special Olympics. The kickoff party will include:
  • An opening ceremony for athletes
  • Yard games
  • Food trucks
  • Ice cream and more

The news release states that bocce ball will be introduced to GCISD Special Olympics athletes this school year in preparation for their participation in competition next school year.

Families, GCISD leadership and Special Olympics athletes as well as coaches will be present at the event, according to the news release.
