Community members can give their input in the search for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD’s next superintendent.

The superintendent search survey will give the community’s feedback to the GCISD board of trustees as it searches for the district’s next leader. The survey will be open until 9 a.m. Dec. 15. Parents, staff members, students, local business or industry members, and other community members can take the survey.

Superintendent Robin Ryan announced plans to retire Sept. 23. His last day as GCISD superintendent will be Jan. 1, and he will remain with the district until Aug. 31 to ease the transition of leadership.

During an Oct. 24 meeting, board President Casey Ford said the trustees want to hear what qualities the community wants in a new leader for the district.

The survey is facilitated by education law firm Leasor Crass, P.C. As part of the process for hiring a new superintendent, the board approved the superintendent search firm in a 5-2 vote during its Nov. 7 special meeting. Trustees Becky St. John and Jorge Rodriguez voted against the approval.

Brad Schnautz was approved as interim superintendent of the district at the Oct. 24 board meeting. He has served as the deputy superintendent since 2017.
